GASTROSCOPY

In our center, internal images of the stomach and intestines can be taken with the OLYMPUS brand endoscopy device, which is amongst the best endoscopy devices. In addition, the endoscopy tubes are washed and sterilized in special machines without physical contact. We do our best to apply the most accurate diagnosis and treatment to our patients under the most reliable and hygienic conditions. The patient must not eat or drink anything for 6 hours before the gastroscopy.

Before gastroscopy, a numbing spray is applied to the patient’s throat. In addition, if desired, sedatives or sleep-inducing drugs are administered to the patient from the arm. Thus, our patients do not feel anything during the procedure.

The gastroscopy procedure takes about 10 minutes.

After the procedure, the patient rests in our clinic for a while until they regain consciousness. Since the patient may feel dizzy after the procedure, a companion must be present. In addition, our patient should not engage in activities that require active participation, such as driving and using machinery for a certain amount of time.

Helicobacter pylori are a type of bacteria found in the stomach. 75% of people have this bacterium. While some people who carry this microbe in their stomachs do not have any complaints, some of them may experience serious complaints, especially stomach and duodenal ulcers. Helicobacter pylori infection can be diagnosed by removing tissue from the stomach during endoscopy. Thanks to gastroscopy, the diagnosis of this infection can be made very easily and its treatment can be applied successfully.

GASTRITIS

It is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It generally occurs as a result of bacterial infections. The main cause of gastritis is Helicobacter pylori.

Cigarettes, alcohol, acidic beverages, fatty meals, irregular diet, spicy and hot foods, use of some drugs trigger this disease.

Abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, burning in the stomach, vomiting, sudden fever and dizziness may occur with gastritis. If gastritis is not treated on time, it may cause ulcers. After the diagnosis of gastritis with gastroscopy, it can be easily treated.

ULCERS

Ulcers are wounds that occur on the inner surface of the stomach and intestines. One of the biggest causes of ulcer is Helicobacter pylori. In addition, excessive smoking and alcohol consumption, spicy and hot foods, some drugs, stress and genetic predisposition are among the causes that play a role in the formation of ulcers. The most important diagnostic method in the diagnosis of ulcer is endoscopy. If ulcer treatment is delayed, it may lead to gastric bleeding or gastric perforation. For this reason, patients should seek medical help without delay.
