BLOOD PRESSURE

Blood pressure is a measure of the force that your heart uses to pump blood around your body. Blood pressure of 115-120 (11,5-12) mmHg and is considered systolic (hypertension).  Blood pressure  When the blood pressure goes above these values, the risk of damage to the cardiovascular system starts to increase.

According to the World Health Organization, one of every eight deaths in the world is attributed to hypertension, which is the third most life-threatening illness in the world. Because of this, hypertension is called a silent killer.

According to studies related with hypertension in Turkey, the prevalence of hypertension disease among adults  varies between 33.7-41.7%. This disease can be seen in 3 to 4 adult people out of every 10. If your systolic pressure value is greater than 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure value is above 90 mmHg, please consult to your doctor immediately.

If your hypertension  value is 120-139 mmHg and your low blood pressure value is 80-89 mmHg, then it is accepted as borderline hypertension. In this case, please consult to your doctor on how you can bring your blood pressure under control.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF HYPERTENSION?

Symptoms of hypertension include  headache, tiredness, nosebleed, dizziness, tinnitus, drowsiness, difficulty while climbing up stairs, palpitations, thamuria and edema in the legs and dizziness.

Hypertension should not be evaluated alone, as it can also can have other risk factors,  including diabetes Mellitus and obesity, High blood sugar levels, excessive salt consumption, alcohol use, smoke, not doing sports regularly and stress can also lead to hypertension .

Hypertension, which is an insidious disease, leads to various complications if you don’t pay attention. Among them; Stroke, heart attack (myocardial infarction), abdominal and leg veins occlusion and  renal failure resulting in dialysis.

 

TREATMENT OF HYPERTENSION DISEASE

First and foremost, a lifestyle change is required.

If you have excess weight, you should reduce your body mass index (BMI) below 25 kg / m2 under the control of a physician or a dietician.

BMI = Body Weight (kg) / The length is calculated in square meters.

To prevent excess cellulite, you should walk at least 5,000-10,000 steps per day. Do not forget that your body consists of 206 bones, 250 moving and semi-movable diarthrosis and 650 muscle groups. 80 percent of your muscles are below your belly line, so your body is programmed upon walking. It is recommended to start walking immediately and reduce your salt consumption. A person needs to consume approximately 5 gr of salt per day. Reducing salt consumption can increase the time you have left to spend with loved ones. Additionally, blood pressure can will also return to normal values if you quit smoking and drinking.

Hypertension disease is one of the biggest enemies of the vascular bed.
